The Garland County Library Children's Department is committed to providing our children with a safe and friendly learning environment. We have a variety of activities for all ages... from babies and tots to teens. Come in to visit with Miss Tiffany, Miss Kasey, Miss Katie or Miss Jill and take home a good book, music cd, or movie. Internet computers are also available in the Children's Department for online research. Don't forget to check out our calendar for upcoming story-times and more!
The library offers storytime programs for a variety of ages. Most storytimes include stories, songs, rhymes, and an art activity. For details about our Baby Steps, Toddler Time, Preschool Storytime, and Bedtime Storytime programs, please check our monthly calendars.
Come build with us! Each month, participants ages 3-14 build according to a theme chosen by the staff. Building time lasts about forty-five minutes, then judges choose a winner from each age group. Legos and snacks are provided. The program lasts about an hour and a half and is held once a month on a Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
Program leader Chris Hough brings board games to share with kids ages 8-12. He introduces new games each month and also brings back old favorites.
Kids are invited to “drop-in” with their families on the first Wednesday night of every month and create a unique craft using supplies left over from the previous month’s programming.
Join us for a free children’s movie and popcorn. We show movies one Thursday night at 6:00 p.m every month and usually one Saturday a month.
