The Friends of the Garland County Library was incorporated in 1976 as an Arkansas non-profit. The group's purpose is to increase library services by raising funds through the sale of donated books, magazines, and other materials, The Back Corner Bookshop, and by soliciting public support memberships.
All of the money raised goes to the library to fund special programs or purchase materials.
The Back Corner Bookshop opens when the Library opens and closes 15 minutes before the Library closes.
Hot Tip: The Back Corner Bookshop is restocked every Monday and Thursday. Stop by one of those days for the freshest finds.
Connect with the FOL in person every Monday and Thursday morning, by email at [email protected], or like the Friends of the Garland County Library on Facebook.
Anyone interested in supporting the Garland County Library is eligible for membership upon payment of dues:
All members are entitled to vote for officers and the Executive Board at the annual membership meeting.
Membership cards are available at the checkout desk or in the book sale room, or you may print the membership form. Mail or deliver it to the Garland County Library.
Do you have an hour or two available on Monday or Thursday mornings to help straighten and shelve books? Volunteers are always welcome and needed.

Donations of clean, gently used books and magazines are always needed. They may be brought to the FOL workroom door or the circulation desk. Because the Friends are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit, all donations are tax-deductible. Ask for a tax receipt when you make donations.
Do you shop at Kroger? You can designate The Friends of the Library at kroger.com as your charitable organization. A percentage of your purchase amount will automatically be donated to the FOL.
