National Library Card Sign-Up Month is just around the corner! We hope to partner with you again for 2026's celebration in September.

GCL started a campaign in 2022 to celebrate all month long with local businesses and vendors. This is our 5th year celebrating, and we’re excited to be partnering again with 4 other libraries in the Central AR area using the name "Power of the Card" (POTC) to offer even more fun to patrons all over!

We're looking forward to having businesses participate for FREE (no cost to the business) by offering a discount, item, or special experience to customers who show off their library cards during September.

What does this mean for your business?

With help from our friends at the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS), North Little Rock Library, Pine Bluff Public Library, and Saline County Library, we aim to get community members excited about all the fun things libraries can offer just by having a library card.

If you're interested in participating in this year's program, you will receive:

  • Social Media mentions on the library's social media accounts (Facebook & Instagram) -- combined following of nearly 20,000 people
  • POTC program mentioned in our September e-newsletter, which is sent to over 10,000 subscribers (business names not guaranteed for use)
  • POTC program mentioned in Sentinel-Record e-mail blast that is sent to over 44,000 subscribers (business names not guaranteed for use)
  • Your business’s name on thousands of print materials, divided among all participating libraries and partner businesses
  • Logo on a Banner in all library branches during the month of September
  • Promotional Radio Ads for this program (business name not guaranteed for use)
  • Your business's name and link featured on the Garland County Library website

All materials will be shared with all 5 participating libraries for them to share on their social media pages, newsletters, and within their branches as well.

Materials your business will receive:

  • “Cheat sheet” to show staff what the participating library cards will look like
  • 11x17 in. or 8.5x11 in. posters with Garland County partner businesses listed
  • Pamphlets full of participating businesses + event info throughout September
  • Social media graphics (4:5 size and 4:4 size) to share with your followers on what discount/item/experience they’ll receive by visiting and showing their library card
  • August/September event calendars for the Garland County Library
