In the 1980s, an economically struggling Hot Springs and the National Park Service found themselves at odds over the future of the park — and, by extension, the future of the city itself. What followed was a fierce public debate that ultimately reshaped the Spa City's identity for generations to come.
Guest speaker Liz Robbins will walk attendees through this pivotal chapter of Hot Springs history, examining how a moment of conflict between the city and the park service gave rise to a new shared vision for the community.
