Calling All Pumpkin Artists!

Pumpkin lovers of all ages are invited to show off their creativity in the library's pumpkin decorating competition this October.

To enter, bring a decorated pumpkin to the library and fill out an entry card with your name, age, and phone number. Each pumpkin will be assigned a number and displayed in the library all month, giving patrons plenty of time to admire the entries.

How voting works

Voting takes place Friday, October 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., both in the library and online. Each paper ballot cast in the library counts as one vote, and each Facebook like counts as one vote. Voting closes at 3 p.m. sharp.

Prizes

In each age category, the pumpkin with the most votes will win a $40 Hobby Lobby gift card, and the runner-up will receive a $10 Hobby Lobby gift card. Winners will be announced by 4 p.m. on October 30.

Ages: Birth to 5

Ages: 6 to 12

Ages: 13 to 17

Ages: 18 and up

Contest rules

• Carved or pierced pumpkins will not be accepted, so entries stay fresh through voting.
• Each person may enter one pumpkin per category.
• All entries must be appropriate for viewers of all ages.
• Pumpkins must remain on display until 3 p.m. on October 30 so they can be voted on.
• Pumpkins not picked up by Tuesday, November 3, will be discarded along with any attached items.
