Park Chats with HSNP: Stories in the Soil

Beneath the trails and bathhouses of Hot Springs National Park lies a record of human history stretching back thousands of years. On Wednesday, October 28, at 12 p.m., park archaeologist Tori Reichard will offer a first-hand look at that record in a free program hosted by Garland County Library.

The park’s archeology program studies and protects hundreds of archeological sites within its boundaries. They range from ancient settlements to remnants of the bathing era, when the town’s thermal waters drew visitors from across the country.

The program is part of an ongoing collaborative series between Garland County Library and Hot Springs National Park. It is free and open to the public, and can be attended in person or watched live on the Library’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/GarlandCoLibrary or on the Garland County Library Facebook page.
