Staff from the Garland County Library, along with representatives from TKS Architecture & Designs, recently toured the Marin Corps plant in Little Rock to view production of the architectural metal panels that will clad the exterior of the library's new North Branch.
The North Branch, currently under construction near the west gate of Hot Springs Village, will feature metal paneling sourced from Marin Corps, a Little Rock-based manufacturer. The tour gave library staff and the project's architects a firsthand look at how the panels are fabricated before installation begins on the building's exterior.
"We're excited to work with all our local contractors and suppliers," said Butch Smith, GCL Design and Facilities Manager. "The ones we've spoken with so far are proud to be helping to build such an important new addition to our Garland County community. From the very first conversations about expanding services and locations, the GCL has insisted on keeping everything as local as possible. We're excited that it now extends to manufacturing materials too!"
The North Branch has been a long-anticipated addition for residents of Hot Springs Village and the surrounding area, who currently must travel to Hot Springs to access full library services. Once complete, the branch will offer expanded programming, meeting space, and technology access for the growing population near the Village's west gate.
Construction on the North Branch is underway, and the library expects the new branch to be complete by the start of summer 2027. Additional updates will be shared at https://gclibrary.com/about/future-2/northbranch/ as the project progresses toward its opening.
